Topic: I Corinthians Passage: 1 Corinthians 7:10–16
1 Corinthians 7:10-16
Don’t use your conversion and life transformation as a reason to get out of your marriage.
Remain single or be reconciled to their spouse.
2 Corinthians 6:14
1 Cor. 7:14
Leviticus 10:10-11
With Christ Jesus and the gospel, there is a cleanness and righteousness that overpowers evil.
There is an impact and influence of Christ and the gospel that overrides the influence of the wicked.
“For the godliness of one does more to sanctify the marriage (and children) than the ungodliness of the other to make it unclean.” John Calvin
1 Cor. 7:15
Since the unbeliever broke the marriage bond, that God intended to be for life, the believer is no longer bound to that union.
1 Cor. 7:16
There is grace for you in your marriage to an unbeliever.
There is great possibility for what the Lord can do in your spouse through your daily reflecting of the gospel. Do not give up. Do not be discouraged.
We do not read that God’s ultimate goal is for us to be happy.
