Adoption: A Changed Family and a Changed Future
Topic: Galatians Passage: Galatians 4:4–4:7, Romans 8:12–8:17
God’s adoption of us changes our family and changes our future.
Our Galatians and Romans text say that before we were heirs, we were slaves.
Before we were “In Christ” Romans 5 speaks of our being “in Adam” and therefore condemned with him in the Fall.
Before we were “sons of God”, Eph. 2:3 says we were “sons of wrath or disobedience.”
Before we were “sons of a good Father”, John 8:44 tells us that we entered the world, with a father who is the devil, and the desires of that father, we wanted to do.”
We have been made sons!
“Abba! Father” is a joyful cry of fondness, trust and intimacy.
It is literally the same cry of the Son.
"Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me;”
ls the children of God and His presence is God's pledge of full and final redemption. The Holy Spirit accompanies us, as it were, as we make our way to heaven; His presence with us is evidence of God's intention to bring us to Himself, to perfect and glorify us, and to allow us to dwell with Him forever.”
This adoption from the Father has radically Changed Our Future.
