Faithful Marriage

June 12, 2016 Speaker: Paul Sanders Series: Song of Songs

Topic: Song of Songs Passage: Song of Solomon 3:6–3:11

Who will be my God?

“Will I get married?”

“Who will be my spouse?”

Song of Songs 3:6-11

What are you putting in place to demonstrate safety to your Bride?

“A part of the safety and security provision reflected in marriage ceremonies today” will be seen in who serves in your wedding party. Choose godly people who will support you fully in the vows that you make. Those who witness marriage should be a holy hedge or protection around you keeping you focused towards Christ and each other inside the circle of holy matrimony and keeping out anyone who might want to destroy your marriage. Don’t ask someone to stand with you who are not committed completely to your marriage and the sanctity of marriage for such will not encourage you to work through problems or seek to help and instead may actually look to embarrass you at the rehearsal dinner.”

High commitment to a church home

Solomon assures her of his protection and their unity.

IF you are married now, you are married to the right person.

God never intended marriage to meet all your needs.
Your needs can only be met by God.

Obeying God’s desire for you and living out of that can bring a kind of peace in obedience that you may have never known.

Become as a husband and wife who He has called and saved you to be.

I promise and covenant, before God and these witnesses, to be your faithful husband (or wife), in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall live.

This wedding feast of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and His bride (the Church).
This is what covenant marriage is to remind us of. The Covenant of grace;

Dowry = Christ Blood

And He said to us, “I go to prepare a place for you.”

Until then we are set apart unto Him.

Regarding His return, He told us, “No one knows the time except for His Father in Heaven.”

We are to see to it that the lamps of our hearts are shining brightly and waiting faithfully.

And on that great day when the trumpets shall sound, and the entourage of angels comes forth shouting, “The Bride Groom is coming!”

We will be caught up together with Him, and gathered upon the place He has been preparing, a New Heavens and a New earth.

And we will celebrate that marriage supper of the Lamb.
