Topic: Galatians Passage: Galatians 5:25–6:5
Galatians 5:25 – 6:5
"Far be it from me to boast (same word as in v. 4) except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Cor. 10:17-18 he writes,
“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
Romans 15:17,18,
"In Christ Jesus I have a reason for boasting in things pertaining to God. For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me."
The cross of Christ and the work of his Spirit in our hearts evaporate the sinful pride out of our boasting;
We all have different loads from the Lord
These truths challenged the disciples to stop competing with each other for who was greatest and to in love serve one another.
Galatians 6:2
God does not mean us to carry burdens alone.
It is our duty as believers to help bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:2).
Pick them up
Hold them up
Knowing and being known by others
Show up
Put yourself in their shoes
Be willing to get messy
Bearing burdens will cost you
“If we are never obliged to relieve others burdens unless we can do it without burdening ourselves, then we will never bear another’s burden.”
In this you are fulfilling the law of Christ
