Topic: Romans Passage: Romans 3:20–25
In our world, more than one life per second is taken by way of abortion.
42 million abortions in our world every year.
1.2 million a year.
3,300 lives are taken by abortion every day totaling nearly 1.2 million a year.
Romans 3:20-25
Abortion is now one of America’s most common surgical procedures performed on adults.
More than 40% of all women will end a pregnancy by abortion at some time in their reproductive lives.
More than 7/10 US women obtaining an abortion report a religious affiliation.
James 2:10
… the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.
“For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.”
“I was sitting in O.R.'s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. 'Norma', I said to myself, 'They're right'. I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that's a baby!
It's as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth — that's a baby!
I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality.
Abortion wasn't about 'products of conception'. It wasn't about 'missed periods'.
It was about children being killed in their mother's wombs. All those years I was wrong.
Tim Keller said,
“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial.
To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything.”
