Law, Curse, Cross

Topic: Galatians Passage: Galatians 3:6–3:14

Galatians 3:6-14

There are only two approaches to God and salvation. Abraham is one type of person.

People of faith who rest and rely solely on the Lord God for salvation

Gal. 3:10

The second type of person relies on the works of the law in order to have relationship to God and be saved.

When you understand the nature of and depth of the curse, you realize more accurately why the cross was necessary.

Galatians 3:13

While He did NOT become sinful on the cross, He legally became and was treated as sinful.

Galatians 3:13-14

We do not simply have our slate wiped clean.
We also become perfect in God’s sight and we stay perfect in God’s sight.

John Stott said something like this:
“The essence of sin is man substituting for God. And the essence of salvation is God substituting for man.”
