Right doctrine is critical for right belief and right belief critical for right living.
A messenger sent forth
An apostle is one who is sent off to do something as another’s representative, with credentials furnished.
The validity and permanence of the doctrine and gospel he proclaimed depends upon his Apostolic authority

That definite standard is the Word of God, inspired by God and wrote for us through His prophets and Apostles.
Do you take the OT and NT as your authority for faith and life?
Is God’s Word your standard to measure all systems of thought, belief and practice?
The true gospel of grace is neither legalistic nor licentious

Paul’s Purpose: To preserve the message delivered to him: Jesus Christ, Only Savior of Sinnners
Luther realized this gospel: He said, “You need one thing to be saved: NOTHING!”
